How a placement runs
4 stages · plain steps
How a placement moves along the row
- 1. First message. You write in through the contact form or by phone and tell us what you'd like to advertise and when.
- 2. Booking and creative. We confirm the placement, the run dates and what artwork, copy or episode notes we need from you.
- 3. It runs. The calendar spot, podcast mention or partnership goes live on the agreed schedule, exactly as booked.
- 4. Wrap-up. For the Whole Row Partnership we send a short closing summary of what ran and when.
There's no bidding and no auction — the process is the same whether you're a market stall or an established local organization.

Materials we need from you
A calendar listing needs a short description, a date and a contact line. A podcast mention needs a few talking points and a name our host can read naturally on air — we write the script from your notes and send it back for approval before anything airs. A homepage or newsletter credit needs a logo file or a simple line of text and a link.

Lead time
Book ahead
Scheduling a placement
We ask for at least five business days' notice for a calendar spot and about two weeks for podcast mentions, since scripts go through approval before an episode is recorded. The Whole Row Partnership is built around a one-month window, so we plan the newsletter credits and podcast dates together at the start rather than one at a time.
Our office keeps regular weekday hours, so requests sent over the weekend are picked up the next business day.

On pricing
One rate card
What the price covers
Each of the three prices on the rate card is the full price for what's described — the calendar write-up, the podcast script and read, or the row of homepage, newsletter and article credits. There's no separate design fee for a calendar listing or a standard newsletter credit. If a request goes beyond what's listed — a longer newsletter run, say, or additional podcast episodes — we quote that separately before anything is booked, so nothing on your invoice is a surprise.

What we don't do
What Saltbox Echo doesn't do
We don't write or edit editorial coverage in exchange for a booking — advertising and reporting stay on separate sides of the row, and a sponsored mention is always labelled as such. We don't sell placements outside the three on the rate card, and we don't run political or restricted-category advertising. If a request falls outside what we do, we'll say so plainly rather than stretch a placement to fit.
